Privacy, in plain language.
Effective October 16, 2026 · Applies to Vintage Lens 1.0.
Vintage Lens analyzes loaded Marketplace listings on your Mac. Yardbird Studio does not operate an analytics, advertising, or central listing-collection service for the app.
Marketplace page data
The extension reads listing text, links, prices, image URLs, and visible duplicate patterns on Facebook Marketplace pages open in Safari. This information is used locally to score, classify, and filter the loaded listings. Lens-owned previews may load listing images from their original image hosts.
Vintage Lens does not message sellers, purchase items, or crawl Marketplace unattended. Its user-invoked Load more control lets Facebook load another visible batch in the page you already have open.
Optional location
When location-based filtering requests a position, macOS asks for permission. Location Services may use nearby Wi-Fi or other available signals; a Mac does not necessarily have a GPS receiver.
Coordinates are held in memory for the active browsing session, including an in-memory background cache of up to five minutes. They are not written into saved settings or review exports and are not sent to a Yardbird server or third-party geocoding/routing API.
The extension compares coordinates with an offline city index bundled with the app. Distances are approximate straight-line distances to town centers, not seller addresses or road routes. Deny or revoke location permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
Settings and private reviews
Preferences and user-written listing reviews are stored using browser extension local/sync storage. Where browser sync is enabled and supported, the browser provider may synchronize supported settings under its own policies. Human reviews are exported only when you choose the export command. An exported file is under your control.
To remove saved extension data, use Safari’s extension-management facilities to uninstall the extension. Keep any review exports you want to preserve. For help with clearing data, contact us.
